US envoy: Iran will not avenge the assassination of the nuclear scientist before Joe Biden becomes president
قال أكبر مبعوث أمريكي بشأن إيران الخميس، إنه من غير المرجح أن تنتقم إيران لاغتيال العالم النووي الكبير محسن فخري زادة قبل تولي جو بايدن الرئاسة، خشية أن تعرض للخطر أي إمكانية لتخفيف العقوبات في المستقبل.
The top U.S. envoy on Iran said on Thursday that it was unlikely that Iran would retaliate for the assassination of the great nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhri Zadeh before Joe Biden assumed the presidency, fearing it would jeopardize any possibility of future sanctions relief.
وقتل فخري زادة، الذي لا يعرف عنه الكثير في إيران مع أن إسرائيل وصفته بأنه لاعب رئيسي، فيما تقول إنه سعي إيران لامتلاك أسلحة نووية، يوم الجمعة الماضي، عندما نصب له كمين على طريق سريعة بالقرب من طهران، وأطلق وابل من الرصاص على سيارته.
Fakhrizadeh, who is little known in Iran even though Israel described him as a major player, was killed last Friday when he was ambushed on a highway near Tehran, and he fired a hail of bullets at his car.
