In the present article, I present a review of the main contributions to the history of Muslim judicial ordinance in Al-Andalus, or Muslim Spain. I pay special attention to the recent work of Professor Bruno Aguilera Barchet, Historical Initiation to Muslim Law. Followed by an essay on the Legal History of Al-Andalus, which I consider fundamental to the understanding of Muslim Law and the question of Islam, both in their historic and present-day dimensions, particularly if we take into account the fact that Al-Andalus and its laws form part of our legal tradition.
