Os sinais de atividade sÃsmica tinham-se intensificado nos últimos dias, levando à retirada de 40 pessoas com problemas de mobilidade e de animais. O vulcão entrou em erupção ao inÃcio da tarde, pelas 15h15 horas locais, 14h15 GMT. A ilha está sob alerta amarelo.
Signs of seismic activity had intensified in recent days, leading to the removal of 40 people with mobility problems and animals. The volcano erupted in the early afternoon at 15:15 local time, 14:15 GMT. The island is under yellow alert.
